Home of the Boyaner Rebbe in Boyan

Boyan is the name of a Hasidic dynasty, whose founder was a scion of the Ruzhiner dynasty. The dynasty began with Rabbi Yitzchok Friedman (1850-1917) of Boyan, known as the Pachad Yitzchok of Boyan. He was the son of Rabbi Avrohom Yaakov Friedman of Sadigura, who was the son of the Holy Rabbi Yisroel Friedman of Ruzhin, the founder of the Ruzhiner dynasty.

He was succeeded by his four sons. His son Rabbi Mordechai Shlomo Friedman moved to America, and was the only one of them who continued the dynasty of Boyan. Upon his passing in 1971, he was succeeded by his grandson (his daughter's son), Grand Rabbi Nachum Dov Brayer of Boyan, who now resides in Jerusalem, Israel.
